A Beach or Tree Holiday

All over Australia there are endless beaches but there are lots of things to offer other than just going to the beach for a holiday. Most families tend to holiday at the beach because it is easy & relaxing.

Australia has a lot to offer in the way of Mountains, Forests & Deserts. When you get the opportunity, do try & drive from the east coast to the west (Sydney to Perth). In a holiday like that you will experience everything from secluded beaches, desert & mountains & when you cross the Nullarbor plains you will experience something you have never experienced before.

Queensland is a state well renowned for its beaches, but have you ever thought about heading out west? Go somewhere other than the Gold Coast? Driving north of the gold coast about an hour is a place called Mount Tamborine, a place where there is endless mountains, markets on the weekends & beautiful lookouts. When you go through the town it feels like you have gone back a century, with horse carts & old fashion buildings.

In the summer time the snowy mountains is an ideal getaway other than the typical beach summer holiday. The Mountains come alive with mountain bike riding one of the top things to do in Thredbo. There are two lifts open in the summer time to get to the top and when you get there you have 360o views of mountain terrain or why not go even further and walk to the top of Mt Kosciusko Australia's highest mountain. Going to the snowy mountains for your summer holidays may not be on your list to take the kids, but its well worth the try. Beach holidays will always be a main destination for family holidays but take a look around and do something different, Australia is a Big Country go out & enjoy it.
