Why Would you rent a holiday house instead of going to a hotel of apartment? There are a number of reasons, first being if you are able to get a large group together & rent a holiday house it will end up being far more cheaper then it would if to say you went & stayed in a hotel. The second reason is you have your own privacy or own kitchen and in some properties your own private swimming pools. This would also suit family reunions, a weekend away with the girls and some properties even hold weddings. What ever the case renting holiday houses are the new thing these days.
Once stayed in a spectacular 10 bedroom house with swimming pool, heated floors, dimmed lights & several spas & saunas, this house had it all. The location was second to none being on a quite lagoon and a stone throws away to the beach, this would be perfect for a wedding setting or big family holiday reunion.
How much you ask - Well on average to rent a nice modern 4 bedroom holiday house with about a 200m walk to the beach will set you back about $2000 with most owners also wanting a bond or credit card details as well. This works out to $200 per person for a week, then you would split the cost of food and petrol.
Cheaper - defiantly, plus a different way to holiday & a way to get to know people or relatives you didn't know before

We use holiday houses and vacation rentals a lot in Asia, we like the idea because you get so much more room than just staying in a hotel room ! If yuo travel with family or friends I agree it makes a lot of sense. Some of those deposits sound high, I have not experienced having to pay large deposits though often we do pay for the accommodation in advance, well in Thailand and Malaysia anyway.
