What Accommodation Is Available At The Lighthouse Cape Schanck Resort?

If you are looking for quality accommodation on the Mornington Peninsula, we recommend the beautiful Cape Schanck Resort and lighthouse. Guests stay in former lighthouse keeper residences, each of which has been decorated in a style that complements the era. There are actually four different accommodation options, each of which have been outlined below:

         White (Head Keeper’s) Cottage
This cottage, built in 1859, offers three well-appointed bedrooms to sleep a total of eight people. Two of the bedrooms contain a queen bed, whilst the third contains four single beds. There are two bathrooms and two toilets, ensuring that larger groups will be comfortable. The separate kitchen offers full cooking facilities (including an oven, stove and fridge) and the dining room seats eight people.

         Inspector’s Room
This is a motel-style room that is located on the main verandah (attached to the Head Keeper’s Cottage, but with separate access). This is where the inspector, responsible for the efficient running of the lighthouse, stayed on his visits. There is one queen bed, which sleeps a total of two people, and an ensuite bathroom for your convenience. Full cooking facilities have not been provided, but there is a fridge and microwave.

         Museum Cottage
This cottage, built in 1887, offers one bedroom and sleeps a total of four people. The bedroom contains a queen bed and two singles; perfect for mum, dad and the kids. There is a separate lounge room, kitchen (with full cooking facilities), bathroom and toilet for your convenience. Stepping out the back door, twenty paces will take you to your very own stunning lookout set 80 metres about Bass Strait.

         Red Cottage
This cottage, built in 1929, also offers three bedrooms to sleep a total of eight people. Two of the bedrooms contain a double bed, whilst the third contains four single beds. The cottage was originally built to provide the keeper (and his family) with an indoor bathroom, toilet and laundry. There is a separate lounge room, bathroom and kitchen (with full cooking facilities) for guests to enjoy during their stay.

Whether you’re travelling with your significant other, the kids or with a group of people, you can rest assured that there is an ideal accommodation option for you at this Cape Schanck resort. All of the cottages are afforded beautiful views of Bass Strait or the lighthouse grounds; perfect for taking in over a glass of bubbly. There are also a number of packages available to further enhance your stay.
