Visiting The Gold Coast With Kids-Some Ideas For A Better Holiday

Traveling with kids means a whole list of special needs. It is important to have activities for the kids that are safe as well as enjoyable. Getting a clue about some spots to visit before heading off on the trip will save some steps later and make getting to the fun part quicker. There is a lot of info available online about the gold coast , and finding places to make both parents and children happy is no problem with a little checking around.

Finding the perfect Gold coast hotels for a family with children is at the top of the list. No one wants to stay at a place that they will have to continuously shush their children or even worse grab them out of the pool if the atmosphere becomes too much centered on inappropriate adult fun. A nice balance that gives parents a place to relax while kids can play to their hearts content is a good find.

Fun Lodging For Younger Kids-

For kids under the age of 12, Paradise Resort has some excellent amenities. The  junior bunkhouse room makes staying in the room so fun that kids won't want to leave. The room has space for everyone. There is a queen bed that looks out onto the balcony for the parents and a very colorful bunk-beds in the kids space. The children can enjoy the provided Sony Playstation (with games available) or watch Nickelodeon on their own TV. Although this does not have a full kitchen, there is a microwave and  toaster, along with a small refrigerator, that makes putting together small easy meals no problem. Sometimes it is nice to be able to lounge in your own space when on a busy holiday and this place makes it so nice.

Other pluses are the  loads of organized kids activities, pools, playground, and climbing wall.   Daily (supervised)sessions are available that give kids something to do and parents a chance to get away and have some adult fun.  This is not some sedate spot where the kids will be sitting and waiting to get picked up. Everyday has a fun new theme and kids are grouped together by age in their own play space.  One thing to keep in mind about Paradise Resort is the fact that it is absolutely kid centered. A visit there means being surrounded by young kids and their noise level for the entire stay.

Keeping Older kids Busy In An Active Place To Stay-

Families with older children will want to look at something that is in Surfers Paradise. This is a fun area for teenagers because of all that is available within walking distance. The beach is right there as well as an endless parade of shops, eateries, and people. Teens are stuck in that age where they want to go out and hang with friends but are limited by their age and the appropriateness of the location. The chance to spend some time lounging on the beach and wandering through the busy shopping district is appropriate and appealing to kids this age. There are some excellent and affordable Surfers paradise accommodations that have a lovely view of the beach, right in the middle of the activity, and are fully furnished apartments with full kitchens and a number of bedrooms.

There are quite a few apartment style rentals to choose from right in the middle of Surfers Paradise. The  Chevron Renaissance Resort  is just one. It has the amenities needed to take care of a family in an excellent location. There is a full kitchen, laundry facilities, and the space to sleep 5 within the two bedrooms. With a lovely pool and incredible views, there is also the proximity of the beach and all of the excitement and activity of Surfers paradise. This is not directly on the beach, but the apartment style living is worth checking into when traveling with a family.

Activities For The Younger Set On Those Warm Days-

Activities that are welcoming to children are important to family getaways. Anyone that has looked into visiting the Gold Coast has likely already heard of all the theme parks, and if that is what the kids want then you have a nice mix to choose from. Those places can be fun but they also mean long waits for rides and expensive eats. There is a lot more to discover in the area that is kid friendly and more interesting for the whole family.

A nice safe place for smaller kids to splash around is the  The Rockpools at the newly opened Broadwater Parklands. A lot of time and money has been put into this area to turn what was once a large parking lot into something for the entire family. The Rockpools are perfect for small ones because of the shallow splashing areas and of course the water squirting and falling all over the place.

If it is nice weather for being dry in the sunshine then the Washington Waters Children's Playground will keep them entertained with all of the swings and a nice variety of other fun play equipment. The nearby enclosure at Washington Waters is a good beach choice. It is enclosed and patrolled by lifeguards at certain posted times. Lounge under the shade of one of the big beach umbrellas or cook up some barbecue for lunch while the kids run from the water to the playground. There are even toilet facilities to make life easier. There are miles of beach along the Gold Coast, but this safe enclosure gives families a nice amount of safety. All of this and more is within the new Broadwater Parklands.

Play And Fun  Challenges In Natural Settings-

If the kids do well with parks then it is easy to find a new park everyday in the Gold Coast simply because there are so many to choose from. Pratten Park in central Broadbeach has a lot to offer kids under the shade. There is a pirate ship to climb and a fun pedal powered monorail. The soon to be finished playground area especially designed for kids with disabilities will make it even more of an attraction. The Faerie Park at Merrimac is the perfect place to take the very small ones as it was designed just for them.

Not all of the natural wonders of the Gold Coast area are situated on the beach.  Thunderbird Park  is approximately 25 KM from the Gold Coast and is right in the middle of Tambourine Mountain. There is a lot to see and do in this area from gallery jumping to hiking the trails through the rainforest. Within Thunderbird park is the Adventure Parc adventure course. The whole thing is suspended 7 meters above the forest floor and is 200 meters long. There are challenges along the way that the older kids will absolutely love. Kids must be a certain height to be allowed to participate.

Before visiting the Gold Coast area is the best time to take stock of the many options available for families with kids. There is no shortage of family friendly Gold coast resorts as well as a nice variety of available activities.
