On arrival
into Shanghai and after completing all necessary Customs and Immigration
formalities you will be met by your friendly China Holidays guide who
will transfer you to your hotel where you will spend three nights.
Day 2 - Shanghai
After breakfast
you will depart for a full day tour of Shanghai. Your day will include a
visit to the Yu Gardens, the Old Chinatown and of course the Bund. Then
a visit to the Jin Mao Tower where from the observation deck on level
88, an exceptional view of Shanghai can be had. After dinner there will
be some free time before an evening cruise on the Huangpu River where
after dark you will experience the neon contrast of the 'old' and the
'new' Shanghai. (B/L/D)
Day 3 - Shanghai / Zhouzhuang / Shanghai
We head out of
Shanghai today to the town of Zhouzhuang, one of the most famous water
townships in China. It is noted for its profound cultural background,
the well preserved ancient residential houses, the elegant watery views
and the strong local coloured traditions and customs. In the evening
enjoy a visit to an acrobatic show. (B/L)
Day 4 - Shanghai / Hangzhou
This morning
your guide will meet you and transfer you to the station where you will
board your train to Hangzhou. On arrival you will be met by your local
China Holidays guide and transferred to your hotel where you will spend
one night. This afternoon you will visit the West Lake with it's famous
islands and causeways. The will also be a visit to Lingyin Temple built
originally in 326 AD and if time permits a visit to a local tea
plantation. (B/L/D)
Day 5 - Hangzhou / Suzhou
After
breakfast at your hotel you will travel to the railway station for your
train to Suzhou. Here you will visit a local Silk factory where you will
get a close up view of its production and processing. You will also
visit the Hanshan Temple, the Humble Administrators Garden and take a
short cruise along the ancient canals before arriving at your hotel for
overnight. (B/L/D)
Day 6 - Suzhou / Nanjing
Transfer this
morning to the railway station for the short train journey to Nanjing.
Here you will be met by your local China Holidays guide and depart to
visit the Yangtze Bridge, Sun Yat Sen's Mausoleum, The Massacre Museum
and the Linggu Temple with it's beamless hall. You will then check into
your hotel where you will stay two nights. (B/L/D)
Day 7 - Nanjing
Today's touring
will take you to the Confucius Temple, the Nanjing Museum and the
beautiful Botanical Gardens before heading out to visit the Ming Tombs
located on the southern slopes of Zijin Mountain and the Zhonghua Gate
said to be able to hold an impregnable garrison of 3000 men. (B/L)
Day 8 - Nanjing / Shanghai
Today you
farewell Nanjing as your guide meets you and transfers you to the
station for the short train journey back to Shanghai. On arrival you
will be met and transferred to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
