When was the last time you woke up in the
morning and decided to have a day that would make your pleasure important? Does even the thought make you laugh out
loud?!!
As women we like to have a "to
do" list running through our heads first thing in the morning, because we
like to be efficient. Having a shower, running through the day's events in our
minds - tick, tick, tick. Yes we are efficient, practical and often rushing
because we want to be on time. What if our priorities changed? What if the
"to do" list started with how to pleasure the most beautiful person
in your life?.... (You!)
What if we put our pleasure first?
What makes you happy?
I believe we have, much like a bicep muscle, a pleasure muscle. Compromising
our pleasure regularly will make this muscle weak and slack. Often, when busy
and stressed, the first thing we drop is ourselves as we put others first. It's the easiest thing to do. But this is Fools
Gold. If you drop yourself, you have lost yourself. And because so many
women are doing it, it kind of seems normal. We also do this with our partners
in life, a little like this scenario played out across households all over the
world on a Friday night:
Husband/partner: "What do you want to do tonight?"
You: "I don't know, what do you want to do?" (Said somewhat irritably
because he should know what you want, he's known you long enough)
Husband/partner: "I don't know, how about a video and take out?"
You: "Ok" (somewhat numbly)
Hmmmm... how is that pleasure muscle of yours?
See, I believe men were put on this earth to support us to look after the next
generation. If you'd said: "I want you to massage my feet with warm oil,
look deeply into my eyes and really see me", or, "I want to sit naked
at the table except for a pair of heels and I want you to feed me morsels of
food whilst making me laugh madly", I think your man would be delighted.
And so proceeds an evening that revolves around your happiness and pleasure
which affects the rest of your weekend.
Men want us to be happy. Who told you this
was too much to ask? Become the Goddess you already are. Do what you love to do
-- go see the film that makes you cry, go volunteer at the homeless shelter, do
whatever gives you pleasure and do it a lot. I tell my coaching clients that
the more you use this muscle, the more your life will be a fabulous juicy
journey that will make you glow.
Our society has been built on a diet of pain. You only have to switch the TV on
in the evenings to see the drama and pain being served up to us: numerous
hospital dramas, police shows, real life dangerous police chases, and the news
which, if we are lucky, will serve up a heart warming story at the end. What do
you want to serve up to yourself each day? Pain? Or pleasure? If it's pleasure,
you'd better get ready because it takes a lot of discipline to live a
pleasurable life. A life of pain is easy -- just look around you, there are a
lot of people living a mediocre life.
Let's have a pleasure revolution -- why not? Is there something else waiting
for you? Is there something else you thought you'd have to get out of the way
first? Because there will always be something to do. Pleasure is not
something to do, it's a state of mind...with HUGE health giving
properties. Have a look at our women’s
coaching programs which centre on health, relationships, money and business - http://www.marinaj.net/coaching/marinajcoaching.html
After writing this, I have to complete my BAS statement and, because it's
something I hate to do, I am going to make it fun. I already have a steaming
cup of Chai tea, a bowl of blueberries,
I have beautiful music playing... and I am wearing my hot pink swirly
heels and my chocolate-coloured velvet strapless evening dress, complete with a
wild necklace I bought in France.
I feel fabulously ready to complete my BAS!
And make no mistake, I run two companies, I have a daughter and before I met my
gorgeous husband I used to be a single mummy. As I said before, pleasure is a
discipline...
Are you game?"
