Well what a week!

Anyone that has been travelling, planning to travel or work in travel has been having a very interesting week.

The Volcanic ash has caused chaos in many ways but it is in these times that we hope everyone realises the true worth of using a travel agent.

The clients that we had stranded we not only gave them 24 access to us but also kept them informed regularly because the airlines kept us informed.  We had a lot of people calling us that had booked on the internet and had no idea what was happening or what they could do with their tickets.  There is no contact when you book on the internet and the airlines were impossible to get through to.

We even gave Qantas a VIP list of our stranded clients that they ensured were put on the flights first when they resumed flying.

People forget about when using a travel agent they are not on their own, the advise, support and contacts that we offer far outweighs the cheaper (which is not always the case) price on the internet.

Another lesson learnt from this chaos was if you used your travel agent to book your travel insurance you would more than likely be covered through their suppliers rather  than through the online insurance players.

So think again when you contemplate it is easier to book online and remember when things go wrong who are you going to call?
