Another way of seeing the vastness of Australia's ground is traveling through the journeys of the train. Although flights and Motorhome rental Australia can be another mode and can be available in several cities. Taking a flight can take you quick from point A and B. A motorhome can take you to several points while a train is a continuous journey that can just take a day or a couple of days.

Great Australian train journeys are made possible by three of its famous trains: The Ghan, The Indian Pacific, and The Overland.

The Ghan. An odd name for a train but is considered a living legend in Australia's history. The Ghan's route is from Adelaide – Alice Springs – Darwin. A 2979 kilometer journey taking you out for two nights either taking it from Adelaide or Darwin. The Ghan operates twice weekly all year round. They say that this is the best way to see Australia's “Red Centre”. The Ghan provide two types of accommodation – The Gold Class Accommodation, Red Class Accommodation and The Platinum (the luxurious one). From Adelaide the the train departs 12:20pm of Sundays and Wednesdays to Alice Springs about 1:45 pm of Mondays and Thursdays. And finally arriving to Darwin at about 6:30 pm of Tuesdays and Fridays.

The Indian Pacific. Another train journey to the vastness of Australia taking you from Sydney – Adelaide – Perth. This is like a rolling hotel with nice cool bed, a restaurant and a lounge. The journey serves twice weekly all year round and features an outback and some kangaroos on your journey. From Sydney it departs at about 2:55 pm every Saturdays and Wednesdays. Arriving Adelaide around 3pm Sundays and Thursdays. And in Perth the final destination is expected at round 9am of Tuesdays and Saturdays. Three classes of accommodation for Indian Pacific are: The Gold Service Sleeper, Red Service Sleeper, and The Red Service reclining seat. The Gold service offers all the comforts of for your journey.

The Overland. The overland connects Melbourne and Adelaide thrice a week, all year round. Its standard Red Service class offers a spacious and comfortable reclining seats. And the deluxe red Premium offers more space and comfort. Both of the accommodation have access to the buffet bar. From Melbourne the train runs 8:05am Tuesdays and Saturdays, 8:40am on Saturdays. Arriving to Adelaide at 5:45pm on the same days.
