If you were to believe everything you read and heard in the media and on the internet with regards to President elect Barack Obama’s stand on online gambling in America, you would not be any closer to clarifying this issue as these reports are very vague and non committal. There are so many other pressing issues to be addressed when Mr. Obama officially takes up office in January that it is very unlikely that changing the laws on online gambling in America will be one of the items on the agenda.
It is true that with the election of Mr. Obama America is very hopeful that changes will take place, and the online gambling community feels the same way. Although these changes are not likely to take place anytime in the near future, the online gambling community is hopeful that at some time in the not too distant future, the President elect will find time in his busy agenda to address the issues of changing the laws on online gambling in America. More importantly though is whether he will find it in his heart to vote in favor of the online gambling community and overturn the laws on online gambling in America.
There are so many conflicting reports of how the President elect really feels about online gambling in America that we will just have to wait and see what happens after he has dealt with all the pressing issues facing the nation such as the state of the economy and the war in Iraq, before he finally finds the time to address the issue of online gambling in America. Of course this issue will have to go through rigorous research; all the pros and cons will have to be taken into account, to ensure a safe online gambling environment for the citizens of America. After all like every industry that is securely regulated online gambling will see a sharp drop in all the scam casinos once it is both made legal and policed by the United States government rather than forcing its citizens to seek out fly by night gambling sites that are regulated by no one leaving them open to being scammed and having their money taken from them.
There is no doubt that America is ready for change, and Americans firmly believe that the newly elected President Mr. Barak Obama is the man to make these changes happen. Come January of 2009 all Americans will be paying close attention to their televisions and other forms of media anxiously waiting to hear what plans their newly elected President of the United States has in store for America. So too will the online gambling community be waiting in the wings, so to speak, anxiously hoping and praying that their day will come and the newly elected President will finally find the time in his busy schedule to address the issue of revising the laws of online gambling in America, and hopefully the final outcome will be in our favor.
